Important information about novel coronavirus

Posted: 4 February 2020

As many of you are aware, there is increasing concern regarding the novel coronavirus (coronavirus). The Federal Department of Health has advised that there are a very small number of cases that have been confirmed in Australia and they will continue to monitor the situation and provide regular updates to the community through the media and also on their website.

The coronavirus is a respiratory illness that is believed to have originated in the city of Wuhan in the Hubei Province in China and while understanding of the coronavirus and how it spreads is in its early stages, there is growing evidence that the virus can spread from person to person.

VenuesWest would like to take this opportunity to remind all customers and contractors to practise personal hygiene regimes such as washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water or using hand sanitizers where soap and water are not readily available. These facilities are both readily available at convenient locations throughout our venues.

The Australian Government is providing regular updates about the coronavirus and a WA hotline has been established for the public and can be contacted on 1800 300 243 should you have any concerns or queries. Additional information about the virus and recommended precautions to take can also be found here.

Thank you in advance for playing your role in keeping all visitors to our venues safe and healthy.
