HBF Arena is approximately 1km from the Joondalup railway station, about 15 minutes by foot. Buses run regularly from the train station and surrounding suburbs.
There are 1000 parking spaces at the venue including disabled and motorbike bays. Bicycle racks are located by the entrance to secure your bike. A parking fee may apply during major events.
Determined to overhaul her unhealthy lifestyle, member Trudi embarked on a transformational journey to better health and well-being, losing 40kg and finding herself fitter and with more energy to better enjoy her retirement.
Poor diet and inactivity were the norm for Trudi a few years ago when she was busy running a business with her husband, leading to a significant weight gain. A change of roles, resulting in her having more time at home, didn't help change this unhealthy pattern with her weight continuing to climb. When she started experiencing knee and back pain, Trudi decided enough is enough, she needed to make a change.
She started by switching to eating a healthy diet and getting active, choosing to swim and attend indoor cycling at HBF Arena, plus running on a treadmill at home. While making significant gains towards dropping her weight, she joined weight watches in February this year, to assist reaching her goal weight. She lost another 20 kgs in 23 weeks.
Since the commencement of Trudi's transformation, she has lost an amazing 40.4 kilos in total, dropping from 95.4 kg to 55 kgs, a far healthier weight for her petite 5 foot 3 inch height and has said goodbye to her knee and back pain.
At this point, wanting to get stronger and look more toned she started weight training, guided by Personal Trainer Rafa and while Rafa is away with Lin. She is confident in herself and is willing to try any challenge her trainers give her during her sessions. Feeling fitter and having more energy she wants to continue training, to be a good role model for her grand-kids in the future and enjoy her retirement to the full.
If you ask Trudi the secret of her amazing weight loss and lifestyle transformation, her answer is only one word: Determination! Celebrating her 56th birthday on Friday, 11 October, she looks amazing and is a true inspiration to what can be achieved when you set your mind to it.
