Is our swim school open during the school holidays?

Posted: 3 November 2021

If you’re looking for school holiday activities in Joondalup, you’ll be pleased to know that our swim school operates during term breaks! We’re on deck for swimming lessons during the school holidays with our full range of learn to swim and squad swimming classes.

Both kids and adult classes are available for all ages and ability levels. Holiday swimming is available over the December/January period when our swim school students take a well-earned break.

Kids’ swim lessons

Our specialized  kids’ swimming classes in our indoor heated pools include:

  • 30-minute parent and baby lessons Monday to Saturday, with a maximum of 8  babies (aged 6 months to 3 years) per class.
  • 30-minute pre-school classes every day for little ones aged 3 – 5 years, with a maximum of 4 children per lesson.
  • 30-minute beginner to intermediate-level lessons every day for kids aged between 5 and 15, with a maximum of 8 per class.
  • 45-minute junior, intermediate and senior-level squad swimming sessions Monday to Saturday, with a maximum of 12 swimmers per session.

5 good reasons to enrol your child in swimming lessons

1)   It will help to keep your child safe in the water.

Learning how to swim is a crucial life skill in a country like Australia where pools and the beach are such an ingrained part of our lifestyle.

2)   Learning to swim will help your child to develop self-confidence.

3)   Swimming is a healthy form of exercise. Regular swimming will improve your child’s strength, flexibility and stamina.

4)   Your child can develop at their own pace.

5)   Your child will have fun!

Adult swim lessons

Both private and group swimming lessons are available for adults in our indoor heated pools. Private lessons enable intensive 1:1 or 1:2 instruction. Group classes include beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

No matter whether you’ve never swum before or you’re looking to develop your stroke proficiency, endurance or water safety techniques, we can cater for your needs at HBF Arena.

2 good reasons to enrol yourself in adult swimming lessons

1) Swimming is great for your physical health.

It’s a full-body workout, increasing your cardiovascular fitness and endurance while at the same time toning your muscles and building strength. It can also help you to lose or maintain weight.

 2) Swimming is great for your mental health.

It can reduce your blood pressure to alleviate stress and boost your mood.

Want to dive in?

If you want to learn to swim in Perth (or to improve your technique), our qualified swimming instructors at HBF Arena will teach you everything you need to know. They’ll also help you to have fun along the way. We provide the best swimming lessons Joondalup has to offer and our continuous program ensures that all swimmers can develop and progress.
