HBF Arena is approximately 1km from the Joondalup railway station, about 15 minutes by foot. Buses run regularly from the train station and surrounding suburbs.
There are 1000 parking spaces at the venue including disabled and motorbike bays. Bicycle racks are located by the entrance to secure your bike. A parking fee may apply during major events.
Fitness has changed Wilson's outlook on life and improved his health.
Wilson is fitter than he has even been. His committed and focused approach to improving his mental health and his physical well-being has seen him lose over 10 kg, greatly boosting his confidence. HBF Arena members will see Wilson in all styles of classes on our timetable and in the gym every single week. He is also a great example of how having a training buddy can spur you on to the next level and make the journey more fun.
In his own words:
I was told you only need a simple and shallow reason to workout. Being a bit overweight since I was little I suffered from low self-confidence. A health related wake-up call made me realise I needed to do something. I wanted to achieve a healthy and fit looking body so began the search for a gym. Finding HBF offered a discount on HBF Arena gym memberships and having a friend who had once been a member and was looking to get moving again, we both thought, why don't we join together.
It takes 21 days to form a habit. We locked in a daily schedule of group fitness sessions, gym workouts and new classes we never thought we'd dare to try. Before we realised it, it had been a couple of months since we started. We appreciated each other's company every time we trained. Little improvements kept me going, the ability to do a full plank, reach higher in crunches and little bit more definition in my body. One day I was putting my shirt on in front of a mirror, I was surprised, "I had shoulders!" Sounded silly, I know, but it was so exciting.
HBF Arena has such a friendly encouraging environment. Without the cheering and encouraging of the instructors, I wouldn't have dared to challenge myself and give 101% in every class. I can feel the waves of energy coming from the instructors and the fellow members. I often say to my friend, it's like hell in the class but heaven afterwards. Even in the gym, I can get support when I need it. The staff kindly instructed and explained how to operate the equipment that I'd never used. Plus, every time I visit I always receive a warm greeting followed by a big smile from the staff. I miss the enjoyable atmosphere and muscle soreness when I take a day off.
I believe I'm on the right track to my simple and shallow ideal body. Since I joined HBF Arena, I feel a lot more energetic, organised and proud of myself each day. Every little bit counts.
