Is your fitness dedication starting to slip away as the year goes by? Yet to find an exercise that gets you excited and motivated? Try stepping out of your comfort zone and sign up for a social sporting competition!
Registering for a social sporting comp gives you the chance to get straight into the action-packed fun of your favourite team sport. Additionally, signing up to a team sport will not only open up plenty of opportunities but provide an endless list of benefits. Some of these many benefits include the following.
Fitness made easy
Getting fit no longer has to be about gruelling workouts by yourself - as social sporting competitions have proved that working out can be fun! Round up your mates and make the dedication to improve your fitness together. Having your friends by your side, paired with the on and off court banter, you will often forget that you're even working out. Weekly matches become less about cramming in your workout and more about improving as a team and increasing your overall position each game.
These competitions are called social sports for a reason. Each new season gives players the chance to start up a team with friends or branch out and sign up as an individual to a completely new team. This provides a great outlet for individuals wanting to expand their social circle and meet new people or groups wanting to catch up on a regular basis. Having the opportunity to see your friends each week is also great way to break up the working week.
Spice up your routine
When was the last time you did something completely out of your comfort zone or deviated away from your normal routine? Registering for a social sport is a great way to switch up your daily grind. Every new season brings a refresh of different players to challenge and feats to accomplish as well as a different goal to work towards. With a wide range of different sports available for ladies, men’s or mixed teams including soccer, netball, volleyball and basketball there is a sporting competition for everyone!
Relive the glory days
When was it ever decided that as adults we needed to stop playing team sports and start going to the gym for fitness? Never! Make the switch today and relive the feeling of working as a team toward victory. Whether you are completely new to the sport or brushing off the skills to get back into it, there is nothing better than being able to contribute to the success of your team on the field while picking up on an old hobby.
Blow off steam
Are your work, studies or just the general stresses of life leaving your mind over worked and fitness taking a backseat? Not only do social sporting leagues serve as a great way to get fit, they also provide the perfect outlet to unwind after a long day and let off some steam. Games will take your mind off of your daily to-do list and give you the opportunity to immerse yourself into a fun and social environment.
