HBF Arena is approximately 1km from the Joondalup railway station, about 15 minutes by foot. Buses run regularly from the train station and surrounding suburbs.
There are 1000 parking spaces at the venue including disabled and motorbike bays. Bicycle racks are located by the entrance to secure your bike. A parking fee may apply during major events.

Being a confident swimmer is an important life skill for all Australians. The comprehensive Swim School program at HBF Arena caters for ages 6 months (parent and baby) to 15 years with group, squad and private swim lessons.
Our Swim School follows the Royal life Saving Society of Australia’s Swim & Survive Continuum, which focuses on establishing water confidence by developing stroke technique, water safety and survival skills. Our pools are built for learning, with varying levels of depth including beach style, toddler splash pool and lap pool with 25 metre capabilities. Our pools are the perfect place to learn to swim.
We believe that creating a positive environment is key when learning to swim and recognise the water can be confronting for beginners. Our instructors are committed to ensuring your child feels safe, comfortable and has fun while learning.

Parent and baby classes (6 months to 3 years)
Maximum of eight children per class
Parent and Baby classes introduce your baby to water in a gentle, safe and encouraging way.
Parent participation is required for this class. You will be in the pool with your baby assisting them as they first interact with and establish their enjoyment and confidence in the water. A friendly, qualified and experienced instructor will be in the water guiding you and providing feedback as your baby learns to kick, splash and float.
Designed to develop physical, social, emotional and cognitive development, classes include movement exploration, adjustment to water and fun games. With you there to support learning, comfort and enjoyment this creates a strong bond between you and your baby.
As your baby progresses they will be introduced to more advanced skills such as breath control, front and back floats, swimming unassisted for short periods and submerging.

Pre-school (3 - 5 years)
Maximum of four children per class
Children enrolled in our pre-school lessons develop their independence as they start to become more familiar in the water, focusing on safe entry and exit from the water as well as building confidence under water.
Classes are centered on physical, social, emotional and cognitive development incorporating the development of water safety education based on play, games and activities.
Children learn floating, gliding, water treading, elements of breaststroke and backstroke and start to develop the freestyle stroke.

School age level 1 – 7 (5 - 15 years)
Six – eight children per class
Structured on a series of Beginner to Intermediate levels, classes focus on stroke technique across freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke. Later stages introduce survival strokes and elements of competitive swimming including diving and endurance swimming.

Squad swimming level 8 + (8 - 15 years)
Sessions run for 45 minutes
Junior Squad Program
Junior Squad is an introductory squad that runs for 45 minutes. Swimmers continue to work on their freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. In addition they learn the basis of dive starts, tumble turns and the use of a pace clock.
Intermediate Squad Program
Intermediate Squad swimmers should be competent in all four strokes. In this level swimmers are introduced to breaststroke turns, breaststroke split stroke and backstroke turns. Sessions run for 45 minutes and swimmers are encouraged to swim twice per week to build up endurance and speed.
Senior Squad Program
The main objective of this squad is stroke development and greater emphasis on improving endurance. The consolidation of more advanced skills and individual medley are introduced.
