HBF Arena is approximately 1km from the Joondalup railway station, about 15 minutes by foot. Buses run regularly from the train station and surrounding suburbs.

There are 1000 parking spaces at the venue including disabled and motorbike bays. Bicycle racks are located by the entrance to secure your bike. A parking fee may apply during major events.

Being a confident swimmer is an important life skill for all Australians. The comprehensive Swim School program at HBF Arena caters for ages 6 months (parent and baby) to 15 years with group and private swim lessons.

 

NEW! Commencing Monday 24 April, the HBF Arena Swim School will be moving to a Continuous Program with Direct Debits as the payment method.  Download the Swim School Registration and Direct Debit Authority forms below, and submit by post, fax, email or in person next time you're in the venue.

Our Swim School follows the Royal life Saving Society of Australia’s Swim & Survive Continuum, which focuses on establishing water confidence by developing stroke technique, water safety and survival skills. Our pools are built for learning, with varying levels of depth including beach style, toddler splash pool and lap pool with 25 metre capabilities. Our pools are the perfect place to learn to swim.

We believe that creating a positive environment is key when learning to swim and recognise the water can be a confronting for beginners. Our instructors are committed to ensuring your child feels safe, comfortable and has fun while learning.

Parent and baby classes

Eight children per class

Classes are designed to establish your baby's confidence and enjoyment of the water while bonding with you. Lesson guidelines are available at time of registration or can be collected on the first lesson. Parent involvement is required.

Pre-school

Four children per class

Pre-school stages develop skills without assistance, focusing on safe entry and exit from the water as building confidence under water. Children learn floating, water treading and start to development the freestyle stroke.

School age level 1 – 7

Six – eight children per class

Structured on a series of Beginner to Intermediate levels, classes focus on stroke technique across freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke. Later stages introduce survival strokes and elements of competitive swimming including diving and endurance swimming.

School age level 8 +

Sessions run for 45 minutes

Levels 8 - 15 are designed to refine technique, test endurance, increase fitness and develop rescue skills. These levels introduce butterfly stroke, use of a pace clock, starts and turns, and resuscitation training and simulated rescue situations.
